About our Guide
Addison Rhudy
At a young age I’ve had a life goal and a dream to one day be a fishing charter captain. I grew up in Houston learning the Texas way of wade fishing for trout and reds. While at college in South Texas, my passion grew as I waded Baffin Bay for trophy trout, and the crystal-clear flats of Port Aransas for shallow water reds. Settling down with my wife and starting a family in Houston, I found what would ignite my passion even more, sight fishing with a flyrod for redfish in shallow water.
My true passion is sight casting at tailing or backing redfish in the surrounding marsh and sand flats of our beloved upper coast. The Galveston Bay system provides ample opportunity for sight casting and stalking your favorite gamefish with a fly rod in hand. I’ve been fortunate enough to fish with guides in many different countries in the Caribbean and Central America that have fueled my passion for fly fishing. I want to share that passion and knowledge with you while we traverse the local waters in search of redfish, sea trout, sheepshead and the Jack Crevalle.
As a Guide, my goal is to make memories that will last you a lifetime and make your day on the water an enjoyable one. I pride myself on being patient, respectful and most importantly, competent.
I operate a Maverick Poling skiff that is specifically tailored for the Galveston Marsh. It was manufactured by fisherman for fisherman. My equipment is top notch and in great working order. I am insured by one of the most renowned companies in the industry. There should be no worries or concerns once you step onto the skiff.
I am a fly fishing only guide service that has a conservation mindset. I practice C.P.R.(Catch, Photo, Release) tactics to ensure these fish and nurseries are here for the next generation of anglers and guides.
